Why GlideNav?

GlideNav started with a simple frustration: the "best" route on a map app is almost always the fastest one — even when it routes you through a nightmare of unprotected left turns, lane-change gauntlets, and complicated intersections to save two minutes.

The idea came from one of our co-founders' daily commute, where he found himself manually comparing three route options every day and picking the one that just felt easier to drive — not necessarily the quickest one. GlideNav automates that judgment call.

We built GlideNav to re-rank the route alternatives Google Maps already gives you and more — not just by speed, but also by driving friction: turns and difficult intersections. We then guide you along the winning route with checkpoints in a Google Maps or Apple Maps link, so you actually end up on the low-friction route instead of getting rerouted back to the fastest one the moment you make a wrong turn.

What we believe

The fastest route and the easiest route to drive are often two different routes, and drivers should get to choose which one they want — not just default to whichever saves the most time.

Who builds it

GlideNav is built by automation engineers with deep backgrounds in software, systems validation, and process control — the same rigor applied to designing systems that have to work reliably, every time, now applied to how you drive home.
