๐ Privacy & Security Policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026 ยท Effective: September 11, 2026
This policy explains what GlideNav collects, why, who else sees it, and how we keep it safe. GlideNav is operated by GlideNav LLC ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@glidenav.com.
The short version
- We collect your email address and an account identifier so you can sign in, plus what you're paying for so we know whether your subscription is active.
- The addresses you type in to plan a route are sent to Google to compute that route. We do not store them.
- We do not run advertising or third-party tracking. We do review anonymized, aggregated usage data to see how the service is performing.
- Using GlideNav requires a debit or credit card, but we never see or store your card details โ you enter them on payment pages hosted by Stripe, not on ours.
- We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
Account information. Sign-in is handled for us by Supabase, using your Google account. We store your email address and the account identifier Supabase issues for you. We do not receive your Google password, contacts, or anything else in your Google account.
Subscription information. If you subscribe, we store the identifiers Stripe issues for you โ a customer id and a subscription id โ along with which plan you are on, your subscription status, whether the subscription is set to cancel at the end of the period, and the dates your trial and current billing period end. We use this only to decide whether your account has access.
Route inputs. The origin and destination you enter are sent to Google's Routes API so it can return route options for us to score. The route we then recommend is sent back to Google to draw the map on your results page. Neither is written to our database. Your browser never contacts Google for that map โ we request the image from our own servers and send you the finished picture. That image is held in a temporary cache on our server, so that clicking around the page does not request it again. Google's own handling of these requests is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Basic account timestamps. When your account was created and when it was last used.
Technical request data. Every time a browser loads a page, the servers that host GlideNav automatically receive the information needed to answer that request: your IP address, your browser and device type, which page you asked for, and when you asked for it. This happens on every visit, whether or not you are signed in, and it is what allows the page to be delivered to you and abuse such as automated scraping to be blocked.
These records are created and held by our hosting provider, under its own policies and retention periods, not by GlideNav. We do not attach them to your account, use them to build a profile of you, or use them for advertising.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking code. There is no such code in the application. The usage information we do look at is anonymized and aggregated โ see Analytics and service monitoring below.
- No continuous or background location. GlideNav only ever sees the addresses you type into it, at the moment you ask for a route.
- No card numbers, CVCs, or bank details. Payment details are entered directly into Stripe's hosted pages and never pass through our servers.
- No third-party fonts, scripts or images loaded into your browser, which means no third party is handed your IP address by our pages.
Third-party services
We use these providers. Each is bound by its own terms and privacy policy, and we share only what the service needs to function.
| Provider | What it does | What it receives | Its privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in, route computation, and the map image on your results page | Your sign-in request; the origin and destination you enter; the route we recommend, sent from our servers to draw the map | policies.google.com/privacy | |
| Supabase | Authentication and our database | Your email, account identifier, and subscription status | supabase.com/privacy |
| Stripe | Payments and subscription management | Your email, and the payment details you give Stripe directly | stripe.com/privacy |
| Streamlit Community Cloud | Hosts the application | Standard web request data required to serve the app | streamlit.io/privacy-policy |
Staying signed in
Your sign-in session is held in memory on the server for as long as your browser tab is connected. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. Reloading the page ends that session and you will be asked to sign in again.
How long we keep things
We keep your account record and subscription history for as long as your account exists, and afterwards only as long as needed for tax and accounting obligations. Route inputs are never stored in our database, and the temporary map-image cache clears itself within an hour, so there is nothing to delete. Stripe retains payment records under its own retention rules, which we do not control.
Your data rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to make the following requests about your personal information.
- Right to know / access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to deletion. Request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to exceptions such as records we have to keep for tax and accounting purposes.
- Right to correction. Request that we correct personal information we hold that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. As stated in this policy, GlideNav LLC does not sell or share your personal information for money or for cross-context behavioural advertising.
The GDPR and the CCPA both apply here. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you may also ask for your information in a portable format, and complain to your local data protection authority.
Exercising your rights. Email support@glidenav.com from the address on your account. We will verify your identity before acting on any request to access, delete, or correct your data, and will respond within 30 days. Deleting your account does not cancel your Stripe subscription on its own โ cancel that first, or ask us to do both.
When we would disclose your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Beyond the providers listed above, we would disclose information only:
- when you ask us to, or agree to it;
- when the law requires it โ a valid legal request, court order, or regulatory obligation;
- to investigate suspected fraud or abuse, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public;
- if the business is sold, merged, or transferred, in which case your information would move with it. We would tell you before that happens and this policy would continue to apply until it was replaced.
Communication
We send service emails you cannot opt out of while you have an account โ receipts, billing notices, and security notifications. Many of these are sent by Stripe on our behalf. If we ever send marketing email, it will be optional, and every message will carry an unsubscribe link. Opting out of marketing does not stop service emails.
Any communication you send us โ a support request, a question, a bug report, feedback โ may be used to improve our product or for analytics purposes.
Analytics and service monitoring
We may monitor anonymized, aggregated information about how GlideNav is used in order to track key performance indicators, spot faults, and improve the product โ for example how many routes were scored in a month, how often scoring succeeds or fails, how long a route takes to score, and how many accounts are active.
Anything used this way is aggregated or stripped of identifying details first. It cannot be linked back to you, and we do not attempt to re-identify it. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking technology to gather it, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
How we keep your information secure
- Encryption everywhere. Traffic between your browser and GlideNav is encrypted with HTTPS, as is every connection between GlideNav and Google, Supabase and Stripe. Our database provider encrypts the data at rest.
- We do not see your passwords. Sign-in is handled entirely by Google, using OAuth with PKCE, so we never see, handle or store a password of yours. If you lose access to your Google account you recover it through Google โ there is no separate GlideNav credential.
- No card details. Subscribing and managing payment methods both happen on pages hosted by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 service provider. Your card details go from your browser to Stripe directly.
- Least-privilege database access. The application connects with roles restricted to exactly the tables they need.
If there is a breach
If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you. We will also notify any regulator we are required to inform, within the time limits the law sets.
Protecting your account
Keeping your Google account secure is your responsibility. Your GlideNav account is only as protected as the Google account you sign in with, so turn on two-step verification and do not reuse your Google password anywhere else. We cannot protect your GlideNav account from someone who already has access to your Google account.
Tell us at support@glidenav.com if you think your GlideNav account has been accessed by someone else.
When this policy applies
This policy covers the GlideNav application and nothing else. It does not cover Google Maps, Apple Maps, or any other service GlideNav links you to, each of which has its own privacy policy that governs your use of it.
Children
GlideNav is not intended for children. You must be at least 13 years old to use it, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided their information to us, contact us at support@glidenav.com.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The last revised date is shown at the top of this page, and any change is effective immediately. Using our application means you agree to this Privacy Policy.
